My name is Ashley, and I created this GoFundMe to help my Aunt Colleen. In August, she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer — invasive ductal carcinoma — at just 39 years old. This devastating news came as a complete shock to our family.

Colleen recently underwent surgery to remove the tumors and is now recovering, with her sweet, devoted bichon Lola, never leaving her side. Unfortunately, her doctors have since determined that her cancer requires a longer, more intensive treatment plan than she originally expected: 16 rounds of chemotherapy over the next 5 months, followed by 20 rounds of radiation. Afterward, she will also need to take ongoing hormone therapy medication for the next 10 years.

I want Colleen to be able to fully focus on her health, treatments and recovery, without the added stress of financial uncertainty. She has been unable to work and maintain her usual schedule, and many people have been asking how they can help. Donations will go directly to help cover essential living expenses, along with medical costs not covered by insurance, for the next 6 months while she navigates this difficult journey.
