A woman named Colleen reached out to us needing help with a storage unit clean-out. As we talked, she opened up about what she’s been going through. After her husband passed away on Christmas Day, everything changed. He was a U.S. veteran who served our country, and shortly after his passing, his pension was taken away. That left Colleen buried in debt—over $4,000—and struggling just to keep up.

Because of the financial hardship, her storage unit payments fell behind, and the unit was scheduled to be auctioned off. Inside were countless personal and sentimental items—memories of a life built together. Hearing her story broke our hearts.
