My name is Chris Baker. My beautiful wife Colleen has suffered from MS for over 30 years after being diagnosed at 13. Until this year she managed it well and all has been fine.
This year things have progressed to secondary progressive MS and while her stability has suffered somewhat the epilepsy she has that goes along with it has made for challenging times of late. With multiple hospitalizations or ambulance visits since fall of 2024.
On July 16 2025 she had the worst incident yet, having a massive seizure in the bath. He lungs were filled with a lot of water. Somehow during her seizure though, she managed to bump the drain, likely with he elbow or another joint that popped it open and drained the water, miraculously giving her a chance to survive.
She was found by her 12 year old son who heard some strange noises and called me to ask what to do. After telling him to check the bathroom and after him confirming she was in trouble he got our wonderful neighbour involved who called 911.
Colleen has since been on a ventilator thanks to pneumonia caused by the water in her lungs and currently remains in critical care.
We don’t entirely know the outcome of this or how much post recovery care she will need so we are starting a Go Fund me to cover any specialty care she may need or any funding for treatments/therapy or in home care that may come about.
Our family realizes these are hard times for everyone so if you can’t afford to donate, we ask for your thoughts and prayers for a full and harmless recovery!
Thank you in advance from our entire family.
