Help Colleen and Sam Rebuild After the Flood

Hello, my name is Cheryl Goldberg (niece), and I am reaching out today to ask for your support for my elder aunt and uncle, Colleen and Sam Parisi, who have been devastated by Hurricane Helene in St. Petersburg, Florida. This natural disaster has severely impacted their lives, leaving them in a difficult situation that nobody should have to face.

Colleen and Sam are retired and living on a fixed income, and the financial burden from the hurricane has been overwhelming. The floodwaters have caused extensive damage to their home, destroying their personal belongings, including furniture and essential appliances like their washer and dryer. To make matters worse, their car—paid for and their only means of transportation—was also severely affected. First, the floodwater reached the inside of the car, and as the floodwater rose, it reached the engine. Despite their best efforts, the car started on fire and was totaled, leaving them without ANY way to get around. Their car was paid for as they cannot afford a car payment on a fixed income, and the Kelly Blue Book value will not allow them to replace a comparable vehicle.

The immediate concern is that they need to cover a $5,000 flood insurance deductible, which has become a heavy weight on their shoulders. The financial strain from the loss of their home and car has placed immense stress on them at a time when they should be enjoying their retirement years.

I am setting up this GoFundMe campaign to help raise funds for Colleen and Sam to meet their very basic needs during this challenging time. Every little contribution will help ease their burden and provide some relief from the tremendous stress they are currently facing.
