Calling all Detroit Underground! One of our brothers is in need of urgent help! Colin Powell, (no not the senator!), moved to LA 3 years ago to stay with family and try and build a new life. Instead, he found himself facing homelessness, was hit by a car (twice), had his phone and his ID stolen. He was stuck, with no way out for a long time.

After Colin’s family and friends saw video of him gathering goods at a resource center near skid row (after nobody had heard from him for 2 months) we came together to help bring him back home. One friend traveled to Los Angeles to get him, and together they made the long trip back by train to Toledo, where Colin was picked up and brought back home in the very early hours.

After making it back, Colin’s struggles are not over. Right now, he only has short-term housing arrangements. His foot is in a boot from the car accident since August 15th, and he’s in the process of switching over his benefits from California to Michigan to follow up on further treatment.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly into getting him essentials such as food, housing, transportation costs, replacement identification/clothing, and medical.

If you are able to help, any amount will make a BIG difference. Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser to help support our local friend as he gets back on his feet.
