Please help the most beautiful, loving family we know, raise medical funds to help support and save the life and of their loving husband and dad Colin, as he battles horrid GBM brain cancer for the second time. For those who don't know Colin, he was first diagnosed with rare, aggressive GBM brain cancer 11 years ago. After chemo, radium & surgery and sticking to a strict organic diet, combined with a ferocious will to live to watch his precious children grow, Colin has been cancer free for ten years.
Tragically, the brain cancer is back. And so is the need for surgery, radium and chemo.
Colin has undergone surgery to remove the brain tumour, which had horrendous side effects and was life threatening itself. Now stable, but very frail and unwell, Colin has begun Chemo and Radium therapy. All of which has had to take place 1000 kms from home as living in a regional town without Neurosurgeons and the specialist treatment Colin requires. Colin, Sandra and their two children had to travel to be by Col's side for surgery, leaving behind school and jobs.
Colin and Sandra will be living away from their home for months to come.
The MRI's Colin has had, have not been covered by private health and the costs of these have had to be met by the family....and there are more to come. With flights, treatment, MRI's, accommodation, travel and the inability for both Col and Sandra to work, the bills are mounting up, and this is where we need your help.
Adding to the family's hope, but also their expenses, Colin has been accepted into a medical trial with global neurosurgeon, Professor Charlie Teo in Sydney. This trial requires travel to Sydney once every 4 weeks for both Colin and Sandra. Whilst the treatment expenses are covered, the travel, accommodation and taxi fares are not. A big ask on any family when both Colin and Sandra have been unable to work in a full time capacity for the past ten years.
