Help Cole White and Kayla Valdivia Recover after the Fire
Donation protected
Many have requested a way to support Cole White's fiancée, Kayla Valdivia, on her journey to recovery. On December 8th, Kayla miraculously made it out of her burning apartment. Cole and Kayla both sustained injuries—Kayla has 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burns along with smoke inhalation. Kayla was airlifted directly to Vanderbilt Hospital Burn Unit in critical condition with 36% total body burns. She was in the Burn Unit ICU for 6 days. She was on the ventilator initially to keep her airway open. Praise God she has progressed with care from the burn team. Kayla was moved to the step-down burn unit after one week in the hospital. Cole also sustained smoke inhalation injuries after going inside the garage to get Kayla out. He was treated at both Tennova ER and again at Vanderbilt ER. Cole was treated for several hours at each ER before being released. Cole has been staying in Nashville to support Kayla as she recovers in the hospital. Unfortunately, her beloved dog, Cooper, didn't survive the fire. Both Cole and Kayla were supposed to walk at UTC graduation for their Master's degrees this past Friday. They will now both walk in the Spring. Kayla has had family and friends encouraging her daily. Many prayers have been lifted over the past week. Although she is now medically stable, Kayla faces a long road to recovery. She has had two skin grafts and is scheduled for another skin graft on Tuesday. She will require multiple weeks of wound care and physical therapy. Your generous contributions will go directly towards helping Kayla cover incidental expenses, including bills, lost wages, and ongoing treatment. She lost all of her personal items, makeup, clothes, shoes, etc. By donating to this fundraiser, you are providing essential support to Kayla during this challenging time, helping to alleviate the financial burden as she focuses on her healing and rehabilitation. Your kindness and generosity will make a meaningful difference in Cole and Kayla's life. Thank you for coming together to support her on her journey to recovery.
