Hello, my name is Ashley Tomassetti

Just recently, my husband Cole Tomassetti experienced a catastrophic medical emergency that nearly took his life. He was rushed into emergency open heart surgery for an aortic dissection. the main artery that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body, was slowly tearing.

What happened was sudden, terrifying, and completely unexpected. One moment life was normal, and the next he was fighting for his life.

we are incredibly fortunate he is here today. Many people with this condition never even make it to the hospital, and even with emergency treatment it remains one of the most serious cardiovascular emergencies a person can face. Thanks to the quick actions of hospital staff, the surgery team, and a successful surgery, he was given a second chance at life.

While we are grateful beyond words to have him alive, the road ahead is long. The doctors expect recovery to take approximately six months, during which he will be unable to work. being out of work for that length of time creates a tremendous financial burden.

The expenses from this event continue to grow, including:

• Lost income during recovery

• Medical bills and follow-up care

• Medications

• Transportation to appointments

• Daily living expenses while I am unable to work

Asking for help is not easy, but this medical emergency has changed everything overnight. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help relieve the financial stress on my family and ensure he does not stress about finances and only focus on healing and rebuilding our future
