Hey Friends

So many of you have texted during this transition with the same kind and loving question:

“How can we help?”

We haven’t really answered because we weren’t sure. The prayers, time together, and words of encouragement have meant a lot. Thanks for doing that even when we didn’t know to ask for it.

I think I know how we could use your help now. Let me lay it out:

The key challenge before us as a family is replacing my primary income in the next 3 months. Our hope is to stay in Maryland and to find ways to lead worship that aren't professional (living rooms, guest leading, etc). But that means finding another way to make a living.

The good news? There's tremendous opportunity before me: a thriving online audience across Facebook and Instagram as well as a 17,000 person email list. God has brought all this about in the last 2 years!

The problem: I’m not quite sure which of the great ideas or opportunities to pursue. Too many choices and...choosing the wrong one in a time crunch would be detrimental.

That’s where you come in: I’ve identified a Coaching Program founded by Donal Miller of StoryBrand and Business Made Simple that does exactly what I need: helps coaches build profitable coaching businesses. This gives me the guidance and certifications I need to get my business off the ground and "flying" in a short time span.

The program, along with a couple other certifications and associated travel expenses will cost me around $15,000. This is a heavy lift for us, but I am convinced it's an investment, not an expense and will pay dividends in the years to come. I also believe in coaching. Last year I worked with a fitness coach and I'm down 20lbs and finding sustainable healthy rhythms. Action, not knowledge unlocks change.

What if you don't raise the full amount? - I'll make payments on the program and pay for what's time sensitive. Even a few months of expenses will be helpful as I'm confident I can get things moving by August.

What's the cost breakdown? -

Coach Builder Program: $12,000

EQ-i MHS Certification: $2000

2 Day Trip for StoryBrand Certification: $750

Misc Setup Expenses: $250

Can I give in a different way (not through GoFundMe)?

I'd prefer all donations via GoFundMe so I can keep track of who to thank and who to deliver workshops and assessments to, but if it's a big deal for you, just shoot me a text and we'll sort it out.

Is my contribution tax-deductible?

Sort of. If you are a business owner, I can make this an expense for you by delivering coaching, StoryBrand workshop, or EQ assessment to you once I'm certified.

How soon will you start this coaching program?

My certifications are in two weeks. My coaching starts in June.

What happens if you raise more than $15,000?

I like your thinking! We plan to cap the giving for this GoFundMe project at $15,000 as this is all we need to cover the expenses.

Can I share this GoFundMe with others?
