Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family and Kind Hearts,
We hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out today with heavy hearts, but also with hope and determination. Our beloved nephew, Cole, a vibrant and strong 21 year old, has recently been diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. As a family, we are rallying together to provide him with the support, love and resources he needs to overcome this challenging journey.
Let me share with you a glimpse into the extraordinary life of Cole, a true warrior with an unbreakable spirit and a heart full of passions. Cole's journey has been one of zest, determination, and a boundless love for the world around him.
Cole's heart has always been drawn to the world of sports, a devoted enthusiast. The thrill of a UNC or Hurricanes game or the excitement of watching the Baltimore Ravens or Orioles play is something he has embraced with fervor.
Cole's passions haven't stopped at sports. The dedication he has poured into his interests, has been mirrored in his commitment to fitness. Prior to his hospitalization, he has been a true fitness fanatic, devoted to working out and taking care of his body. He has gone above and beyond by donating his own plasma to help others, exemplifying his selflessness.
His love for fishing and kayaking allow him to connect with nature's tranquility. He's a young man of diverse interests, from riding horses on the sandy shores of Virginia Beach to singing and dancing to the rhythm of live concerts, Cole embraces every facet of life with unbridled enthusiasm. Up until the time of his diagnosis, Cole was already on a remarkable journey of his own making. Inspired by his father's footsteps, Cole embarked on a self-study apprenticeship in the world of electrical trade. His determination and dedication was palpable as he set out to learn the skills that would one day make him a skilled electrician. He hopes to continue his study and then gain his practical experience after he is well. His goal is to become one of the youngest unlimited electrical license holders in the State of North Carolina. Friendship is one of the cornerstones of Cole's life. He shares his life with a circle of friends who cherish him just as much. His warmth and kindness are magnetic, drawing people close and forging connections that time could never erode.
Cole is currently receiving his first round of chemotherapy treatment at Duke University Cancer Center. Most young adults who have treatment for Burkitt Lymphoma are cured and have very good outcomes. Cole's story is one of courage and strength, a reminder that even in the face of adversity, the human spirit can shine brightly. As we rally around Cole in his fight against Burkitt Lymphoma, let's channel his passion, determination, and love for life into the support and positivity he deserves. In the midst of Cole's challenging battle with this disease, his family is also facing a substantial financial strain. Cole's mother and father, pillars of strength and support, have put their careers on hold to stand by their son's side throughout his treatment. Their unwavering dedication means that they are unable to work or work consistently during this crucial time, creating an unexpected burden on the family's finances. The costs of living have become more than just expenses - they are now obstacles that need to be navigated on this already difficult journey. The family finds themselves in a position where they could use a helping hand. We have set up this GoFundMe page because we believe that our community's support can truly make a difference with the goal of directly contributing to medical expenses/treatments, Cole's recovery journey and alleviate the financial pressures that are weighing heavily on Cole's family. Every contribution, no matter the size, will contribute to ensuring that Cole's mother and father can remain at his side without the added worry of how to manage these crucial expenses. As we stand together in unity, we can help ease their burden and allow them to focus on what really matters, Cole's recovery and well-being. Please consider donating if you are able and sharing this page within your social circles. Your prayers, positive thoughts and support of any kind mean the world to us. Let's come together as a community to give Cole the strength he needs to fight this battle and emerge victorious. Updates on Cole's progress will be shared on this page so that you can witness first hand the positive impact your support is making. We believe in the power of collective love and support and we are immensely grateful for whatever you can contribute.
