Help Colby Get IVIG Treatment for PANS/PANDAS
Story:
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart, asking for help to get my son, Colby, the life-changing treatment he desperately needs. Colby was diagnosed with PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) when he was 19 years old after a decade of wrong diagnoses. This condition causes brain inflammation and has caused severe psychiatric symptoms, including loss of cognitive function, restrictive eating, disruption of sleep, memory, and self-care, sudden onset of OCD, tics, anxiety, depression, mood swings, sensitivity to sound and lights, inability to drive, work, do basic math, handwriting, and has drastically affected his ability to live a normal life.
One of the most effective treatments for PANS/PANDAS is IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) therapy, which helps regulate the immune system and can significantly improve symptoms. Unfortunately, this treatment is not covered by insurance and is extremely expensive. Colby received less than a full IVIG dose in December. He’s been on several antibiotics, antivirals, antifungal treatments, steroids, and completed a 21-day detox with a complete overhaul of dietary changes to all organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, and no added sugar. He also takes several natural supplements as well as anxiety, depression, and OCD medications, and B-12 injections twice a week. All to no avail. We are at a loss and desperately need at least two more full IVIG treatments.
We are asking for your help in raising the funds needed for this treatment, which will cost $12,000 per treatment. Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to helping Colby regain his health and happiness.
Colby is a 25-year-old male who had a job where he took a medical leave of absence when this flare hit in October. Then his store closed, and he was involuntarily terminated, and now lost his marketplace insurance because he can’t afford the massive monthly payments. He LOVES NASCAR, has a kind heart, and believes in humanity and wants to see social change where equality is number one. He loved being able to drive and work and have a normal life. He has now lost hope and his will to live. We’ve seen how these conditions have affected him, and we are doing everything we can to get him back to the man he once was. This treatment is a vital part of his recovery, and your generosity would mean the world to our family.
Please share our campaign with others and consider contributing to help us reach our goal. We are incredibly grateful for your support during this challenging time. Thank you for caring and helping us give Colby a brighter, healthier future.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Mandy
