We are raising money for our youngest son, Colby. Colby needs a cranio helmet to help fix his positional plagiocephaly due to torticollis. Colby was born in February, and we noticed he favored one side of his head more than the other. We started physical therapy this week to help the torticollis. We were referred to the cranio clinic in Birmingham, but the craniologist wanted us to get X-rays done to make sure his skull was forming properly, so we did, and we got clear scans. Now, because his scans are clear, insurance will not cover the cost of his helmet. Even with the help of our pediatrician, they are still deeming this cosmetic. While this may not be a medical emergency, this helmet is extremely beneficial for Colby’s growth. It has already affected the placement of his ears and has offset his ears from the plagiocephaly. We go out of state on Monday, 6/9/2025, to be fit and measured for his helmet, and we will pay out of pocket for the visits.

This is extremely hard for me to do because I’m a little too prideful to ask for help. But after taking 3 months off of work, this is just a little out of our budget. We would really love any help we could get to help get Colby’s helmet.
