Help Cody's Fight:Kidney Failure and expenses

  Hello,

   My name is Cindy Rogers and this fundraiser is for my son Cody Rogers. He is in Montana away from friends and all family.

     Cody fell hard on the ice and developed Rhabdomylisis; a condition that caused his kidneys to stop functioning completely. He became critically ill and was not coherent. He was in his apartment near death. Thank God his roommate got him to a small medical clinic nearby. Cody had to CRAWL out of the apartment and out of the car to seek help.

     He was immediately mediflighted to the hospital 50 miles away in Billings Montana. He had a dialysis port placed and has underwent emergency dialysis. He had several dialysis treatments and now has extremely high phosphorus levels in his blood, which is pulling the calcium from his bones. His kidneys are now only functioning at 40%. 

   His sister and I were able to go be with him because of donations from some very great friends and relatives. It was a grueling 4 day trip driving nonstop in a rental car.

   Cody is such a hardworking man but due to his medical condition has been unable to work and ultimately was let go. HE HAS NO INCOME WHATSOEVER NOW!!!!

Part of his job included an apartment he shared with another person and his rent was very reasonable. So he lost his apartment as well. 

    His medical bills are going to be astronomical, but right now he can't even pay rent, buy food, or anything, and has bills/payments that are mounting every single day. He is having to pay for an Uber for all transportation needs. $15.00 EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! He is legally blind and does not have even a Bicycle.

     To make things worse, Cody lost his apartment and he had to move into Billings and had to basically leave most of his belongings. 

       His situation is beyond desperate and he is losing hope. 

      Cody is NOT A quitter and is applying for jobs every single day. He has had interviews it o luck so far. He is weak, legally blind, no transportation, and medically unstable. His kidneys are only working @40%

(this was his status at discharge from the hospital step down unit from ICU)

The hospital discharged him with no follow up instructions, no follow up doctor visits, no follow up lab tests. He was very weak. He had to go buy himself a cane when he was discharged.

They did not order any outpatient physical therapy.

CODY personally asked to speak to the discharge planner on multiple occasions at least 6  times. NEVER once, did a discharge planner or a case manager come to speak with Cody about his discharge or services that he may need upon discharge.

    I am on social security and I am not in a position to help him. I know nowadays everyone is struggling, but I hope and pray if you can only give $5 or $20, everything helps and is so appreciated. 

if all you can do is share Cody's story and his go fund me then that is also much appreciated. You never know who might see it and who might feel led to donate and be able to help.

Any and all donations will be handled by his sister Jennifer who is honest and extremely trustworthy. Plus she LOVES her brother Cody so much and will make sure that any donations are put to the best possible use.

I am a very proud person and this is one of the hardest things I have had to do. I humbly ask you, Mom to Mom, mom to Son, friend to friend, human to human, heart to heart. Please help us if you can.

I have adjusted the monetary goal several times. And some have asked about this. The original goal was 13,000 which is absolutely what we need or more but I just felt that was an unrealistic goal so I lowered it, and then I lowered it again. I will raise the goal according to needs and according to what God tells me to set it at. Please know  every dollar will b accounted for. God Bless your heart , love you all so much!!!
