The start of a short story to Cody's cancer diagnosis. In August 2024 we ended up in the hospital due to CO2 poisoning and at that time they did a CT scan which didn't show any cancer but degenerative disc disease in his lower back. Toward the end of 2024 Cody had emergent appendectomy surgery to have his appendix taken out, still at this time no signs of cancer. Life continued on as normal with no other complications or so we thought. Then mid to end of 2025 Cody become weaker, unable to eat and swallow which led us to the emergency room at which time they consulted GI. At that time we scheduled a EGD (camera down esophagus) which took place in February of 2026 to see what the cause could possibly be. This took us back to the emergency room as there were severe blockages and masses that GI Dr. had found. Within a few days it was confirmed stage 4 esophageal peritoneal carcinoma cancer. Cody had exploratory surgery of stomach done while doing this they had a chemo port placed and a Jtube (feeding tube) placed for nutrition. We spent some time in the hospital till they felt Cody was able to come home, as his strength came back sense getting nutrition. Hopes still high for some recovery. After being home for a few weeks Cody then was then able to start chemotherapy. Treatments were difficult but he was feeling that things were headed in a better direction. Cody then had completed 4 rounds of chemotherapy until the next CT scan revealed that progress had not been made but cancer had spread to more of his stomach and lymph nodes, very quickly. They also found multiple blood clots in both legs, lung, femoral artery and fluid on the abdomen. At that time Cody had a drain placed in abdomen so we can drain off fluid as needed. While still in good spirit Cody went forward with becoming more comfortable. With wanting to be more comfortable he opted for hospice care to continue at home to be surrounded by his wife, family and friends.

We are looking for any donations to help continue to pay for medical bills and end of life services amongst other various needs. If you are not able to donate please share this story with your family and friends about how unfortunate life can be cut so short so quickly. Be sure to hug your friends and family as life tomorrow is not guaranteed. Be sure to tell them how much you love them and what they mean to you.

A little about Cody and his life. As a child Cody had many hobbies and passions, this included taking stuff apart and putting it back together LOL. At the age of 2 years old Cody's dad tells a story of how they owned a riding lawn mower and Cody just sat there watching his dad for hours work on the motor. This is where Cody's passion of motors and anything on wheels came to light. Cody's high school senior project was even car based making his first mark of blowing a sunroof out of his Saturn due to the amount of subwoofers he had placed in the trunk and whole back seat of car. Cody worked as a lube tech furthering this passion for helping people with automotive needs which led to working in a mom and pop shop for over 15 years doing any and all automotive work. Cody learned how to keep his customers happy and safe in their vehicles. Cody did not rip anyone off when it came to pricing to fixing their vehicles. Cody and I built a garage onto the house about 10 years ago as he wanted to start his own business called "C.A.M Repairs". All while taking care of customers he also helped build our own toys. We built a Honda civic that went to track days and built a rock crawling jeep for extreme off road. This also included motorcycles and 4 wheelers. We also had many other hobbies that included : snowmobiling, riding pedal bikes, playing disc golf, fishing, video gaming, photography, tattoos and playing TCG's (trading card game). Went snowmobiling with his family in upstate New York every year for a week at a time. Riding pedal bikes on the rail trail and in close parks. Playing disc golf up and down the east coast. We would fish locally with his brother and friends. Playing video games online by PC to Nintendo and to Xbox. Cody was a ad-vide gamer with the gamer tag of WrenchnMonkey for over 20+ years. Doing photography of cars and out door life. Multiple tattoos ranging from back, arms and legs. TCG (trading card games) playing Magic, Pokémon and ending with Lorcana. Joined a Lorcana league that is a great community. As you can tell we had a lot of hobbies and interest together. As this only fulfilled our love and passion for each other.

Cody and I met in high school and dated on and off as young love. When I graduated high school we decided to get together and see where our love story would take us. We had dated for 7 years before becoming married in 2015. Cody has been my best friend sense day one, he has been my whole world and my everything. To think we won't be growing old together is just heart breaking, but I know when his time comes he will always be with me in my heart and will always be watching over me. Cody and I didn't want kids but we had two loving dogs that passed away in 2019/2021. Their names were Oreo and Twix as you can guess they had colors to match their names. Cody has been my biggest supporter and I have been his for so long. I wanted to be a nurse and was going to school to be one but found it was harder than expected and was not able to complete the program but that didn't stop me. Cody supported me in transitioning to be a respiratory therapist but sadly that was even harder than becoming a nurse. So I stuck with what I know and what I am good at, which is a nursing assistant. I love caring for people and doing whatever it takes to make their day special. Right before Cody got sick I left that role and started working at a call center which allows me to work from home. This has been a blessing as I am not only his wife but his full time care giver.

Life is hard and there are things I will never understand why they happen, but I am thankful I have had so much time with him and to create memories that I will never forget. We also have been blessed with such amazing support from both of our families and friends. What everyone has done and is still doing to help us in our time of need is beyond what words I can put together for just how grateful we truly are.
