On November 8th, our coworker and friend Cody was simply doing his job—driving to his next cleaning location—when a drunk driver slammed into him with devastating force. The impact pushed his vehicle off the roadway and into a nearby creek. The result was catastrophic. Cody was rushed to the hospital and spent more than two weeks in the ICU fighting for his life. The injuries were severe and complex—his intestines were forced upward into his lungs and pressed against his heart. He underwent emergency surgery to repair the damage and return his organs to where they belong. Today, Cody is home and beginning the long process of recovery. While he is thankfully covered by workers’ compensation for medical care, he is unable to work for at least another month—possibly longer—as his body continues to heal.
We’re asking for help to support Cody with everyday needs like rent, bills, food, and transportation. Most urgently, he needs a vehicle. His was completely totaled in the accident, and reliable transportation is critical as he works toward getting back on his feet. Cody is a hard worker, an incredible human, and someone who always shows up for others without hesitation. Now it’s our turn to show up for him. Any support—big or small—means more than you know.
