My name is Cody, and I’m a barber and musician who’s been through a lot in the past couple of years. After my daughter’s mom got the house, I found myself with limited time with my daughter Lyric and maxed out on child support. I lost my apartment because I couldn’t afford it, and that’s when homelessness became my reality. Things got even tougher after an accident last October left me having to learn to walk again, only to end up back on the streets once I recovered.

Despite everything, I managed to get financial aid and enroll in barber school, determined to build a better future for myself and Lyric. It’s been incredibly tough, and I feel broken at times, but I know I’m capable of great things—I’ve proven it before. The hardest part is hardly getting to see Lyric, who loves me just as much as I love her. I just need a head start to get back on my feet.

The main goal of this fundraiser is to help me get my barber license and find a place to live. Without these, it’s impossible to move forward. I’m an empath—it’s both a gift and a curse—because I care deeply about the people around me and always try to give back. Just reading my story already gives me hope that there are more people like me out there. I don’t like handouts, and I’m uniquely skilled, so if there’s anything I can do in return, I’m open to it.
