Hey y’all, my name is Cody Johnson.

I’ve been in the Tennessee Army National Guard for 17 years. The military has been a big part of my life. It taught me discipline, how to work hard, how to push through, and how to take care of the people around me. But over time, the stress and the constant “always ready” mindset took a toll on my mental health.

On top of that, I worked over 10 years in a high-pressure sales job. The pay was good, but the stress was nonstop. It got to a point where I wasn’t okay anymore. I needed to make a change for my own well-being and for my family. It wasn’t easy walking away from something stable, but it was necessary.

I started North Boro Mowing here in Murfreesboro. I’m doing quiet, electric mowing and helping people take care of their yards. I’m learning, I’m knocking doors, I’m showing up, and I’m earning everything yard by yard. I’m doing quiet, electric mowing and taking on yards, cleanups — whatever I can to build this up the right way. I’m working every day.

But during this transition, things have been tight. Bills don’t stop just because life gets heavy. I’m not ashamed to say we hit a gap while I build a steady customer base.

I’m not asking for pity. I’m not asking for a handout.

I’m asking for a little help while I keep fighting forward.
