Hello to all my friends, family & random acquaintances! Starting May 4th, 2017 I will be setting off from Campo, CA and hiking North on the Pacific Crest Trail and will be gone approximately 5 months. This won't be an easy feat by any means, but I'm hoping that with your help i'll be able to make it a reality!
The Rundown:
I'll be hiking from the Mexico border to the Canada border, along the Pacific Crest Trail, totaling 2658.9 miles.
I have 2 months before I take off.
Each month I'm gone I will need roughly $1000 to live.
The funds you provide will go towards food (a guys gotta eat), rest stops (for the occasional hot shower & porcelain toilet) and replacement gear (shoes & socks wear thru and weather can be unapologetic on tent poles/etc.)
The SHORT Why:
I have the time and the physical ability to hike the entire West Coast of the United States.
The LONG Why:
Growing up in California, going through Boy Scouts and constantly finding myself in the outdoors, the PCT has been a feature that I've often taken note of and always admired. The culture of the trail is beautiful. The thru-hiker community comes from near/far, are tall/short/fast/slow and everyone's got their own unique reason to why they are attempting such a feat. I am excited to immerse myself in this culture and to see what my own experience turns out being.
WHERE YOU COME IN!
I need financial help to make this a reality. The past few years I've lived month to month and unfortunately have never been able to save up money to put away for something like this. And though I'd consider myself a realist, I can't yet bring myself to put money (or lack thereof) in between me and my goal.
I need my friends, family and anyone who wants to live vicariously through someone to offer up anything they can so that this dream can become a reality.
Aren't able to offer up $20+? Here are some other ways I'd love for you to partner with me on this!
Supplies - Do you have any of these things lying around and are you willing on gifting them to me without the promise of getting them back?
- 40-60L Backpack
- Tarptent
- Jetboil
- Warm, Technical Clothing, ie down jacket/base layers/gloves/rain jacket/fleece/ (Size S/M)
- Point & Shoot Camera (something small enough to put into a hip pocket)
- Crampons
- Ice Axe
- Bear Can
Prayer - Though I may be hiking by myself for most of trail, I will not be able to finish this alone. I need to be finding my strength (mental/physical/emotional/spiritual) in God.
- Please be praying for safety for myself and for others that are hiking
- That I will find people to hike along with for portions of the trail
- That I will have the resources needed to finish (ie food, water, money, energy)
- That I will not be discouraged

May - SD to Bakersfield
June - Bakersfield to just North of Yosemite
July - North of Yosemite to Oregon
August - Oregon to Washington
September - Washington to Canada
