Help Cody & Halee Bring Their Twin Boys Home

Donation protected
Hi, we’re Cody and Halee Rudduck from Dayton, Ohio. Cody is a middle school science teacher, and Halee is a local hair stylist. Since marrying in March 2018, we’ve dreamed of becoming parents, and our journey has been one of faith, heartbreak, and perseverance.

In 2022, we experienced the devastating loss of our first pregnancy. Our sweet baby girl, Cora Faye, was diagnosed with a cystic hygroma and, later, down syndrome. Her time with us was brief, but she left an indelible mark on our hearts. We held her tiny body in our arms on September 11, 2022, and relied on God’s plan to guide us through our grief and healing.

After a year of trying to conceive again, we returned to our fertility specialist for further testing. Following the removal of uterine polyps and another round of fertility medication, we got the news we had been longing for: we were pregnant!

Our first ultrasound at seven weeks revealed not one heartbeat but two. We were overjoyed to learn we were expecting identical twin boys! However, this rare type of twins—monochorionic diamniotic (MoDi)—comes with significant risks. Because our babies share a placenta, they’re at high risk for complications, including unequal nutrient sharing.

In recent weeks, these complications have intensified. Baby B is severely growth-restricted, receiving only 15% of the placenta compared to Baby A’s 85%. Additionally, Baby B’s umbilical artery has intermittent and absent blood flow.

On Thanksgiving Day, we underwent a complex procedure called fetoscopic laser surgery to address a condition called Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). While the surgery was successful, it caused a rare complication—global chorion-amnion separation, where the amniotic sac lining detaches from the uterine wall.

Because of these complications, Halee is now on bed rest and undergoing up to three ultrasounds per week. Baby B is currently too small to survive outside the womb, so our medical team is doing everything possible to give him more time to grow. Once he reaches a viable weight, Halee will be admitted to the hospital for closer monitoring and potential early delivery.

This journey has been an emotional rollercoaster, but our faith remains steadfast. We are doing everything in our power to bring our boys home. However, the medical expenses, loss of income, and the prospect of a lengthy NICU stay have placed a significant financial strain on us.

We are humbly asking for your support to help us cover the mounting medical costs and prepare for the care our boys will need. Every donation, no matter the size, will go toward ensuring the best possible outcome for our family.

Above all, we ask for your prayers for Baby B’s growth, Baby A’s health, and strength for our family as we navigate this uncertain time.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. We are grateful for your love and support.

With love and hope,
Cody & Halee Rudduck
