Help Cody Get Lifesaving Heart Treatment

Hello, my name is Arianna and I’m hoping to raise money to help my beloved dog Cody. Cody is a 9-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. He is very active and healthy this far into his life, and he rarely ever gets sick. This week, I noticed his breathing suddenly become faster along with coughing, so I made an appointment at his vet, and they recommended I take him to the emergency room. After tests and monitoring for 7 hours, results showed that Cody likely has congestive heart failure. His heart is enlarged and there’s fluid building around his lungs, which has made it hard for him to breathe. Symptoms have been asymptomatic with normal behavior until earlier this week.

They gave him Lasix—a diuretic to help remove the fluid—and placed him in an oxygen cage for a few hours. Thankfully, it helped him stabilize while in the ER. He got sent home with Lasix and Pimobendan, which helps the heart to pump blood more efficiently.

What I am facing:

• The emergency visit cost $1,095, an unexpected expense I’m struggling to cover.

• The vet recommends hospitalization for 12–24 hours to stabilize his heart and breathing further, but this would cost an additional $2,000+.

• Cody will also need lifelong heart medications, regular bloodwork, and organ screenings to monitor how he’s responding to treatment.

• Increased wellness plan at his vet: $90/month.

• The vet told me that with the right care, Cody could live another 6 months to 2 years. Without treatment, he’s at risk of going into cardiac arrest at home, which I am very fearful of.

I’m humbly asking for help to cover:

• The unexpected $1,095 ER visit.

• The $2,000 hospitalization.

• Upcoming medications, heart care, bloodwork, and organ screening.

• The ongoing monitoring Cody will need to stay stable.

• Increased wellness plan cost at his primary vet.

I adopted him when I was just 15 years old. I am now going on 25, so he’s been through everything with me and has been a huge emotional support. He grounds me when I need it the most. I never go too long or too far without him. Everyone who has met Cody feels his warm, loving, and welcoming spirit. He is very special to me, and it is important that we work to keep him around for as long as possible!
