Hi, my name is Cody, and I’m an actor, writer, and director living in LA. Some of you may know me from LA, many from theater and sales days, a whole lot of you from theater bank, and at least 16 of you who have called me adorable of your own volition. Some babysitters too. On July 24th, I totaled my car on the way to a Shakespearean tragedy, no less. Earlier in the month, I had to suddenly switch to a new car insurance policy in California, and because of a mistake on my end and the nature of the accident, my insurance won’t cover the loss. After paying to have the car towed back to my place, I had to park it on the street. I checked on it every hour and a half, cleaned out my stuff, made sure everyone knew it was not abandoned, and I left two notes.

I had sold it to a salvager and had just finished everything and was arranging for them to come pick it up. I was literally walking around the corner as they said they were on their way and... it was gone. So I scrambled to call any number I could find. No one at LAPD was answering, I was leaving messages, and then I finally walked past a sign for a towing company. I called them, and sure enough, they had it, and it had just arrived. I got what I needed, arranged to meet the salvager, paid the fees, and by the time everything was said and done, I basically broke even. Now I’m without reliable transportation in a city where having a car can make or break your ability to live and work. As someone trying to build a career in the film industry, and with so much work paying on a NET30 schedule, it’s hard to recover quickly when your financial cushion disappears overnight. I’m asking for help with bills, debt, and transportation costs like Uber, bus fare, or even a replacement car if enough is raised. If you’re able to donate, I would be deeply grateful.
