During my morning commute yesterday morning, my car's engine overheated and the gasket took some damage while I tried turning around and getting myself as close to home as I could. For the most part she can't be salvaged and needs to be replaced, as she is an older Chrysler 300M going on twenty years. 

What I need is help in either in purchasing or putting a down payment on a used, more recent vehicle that is compatible with my long commutes. I drive approximately two hours a day, five days a week, on back roads to provide for my family and home. We are a single-income household and our car was our only means of being able to subsist as a family and, most importantly, get me to and from work. 

I estimate I need at least $4000 dollars as soon as possible to be able to afford a decent vehicle that can handle the commute and fuel economy demands.  The sooner I am able to replace my vehicle, the better; I fear I may lose my job if I do not find a long-term solution.
