Help Codie and Jojo create their dream family

Hello! This is myself and my wife Jojo. We are a loving LGBTQ couple. We met while on a disaster relief deployment. Our connection was instant. Our home states were different and therefore we started a long distant relationship between Utah and New Mexico. Through our time spent together we experienced a lot. In 2020 shortly after the pandemic started, we decided we needed to be able to be closer to each other and so Jojo relocated to Utah. Amid lock downs and mask mandates we decided that we didn’t want to live our lives without each other and so we tied the knot. Our wedding was not extravagant, it was small. The officiant, a neighbor and my parents as the witnesses on our balcony, all of us separated by 6 feet. Through the year we had a lot of conversations, we spent most of our free time together in the mountains. We taught our cats how to walk on leashes and we took them camping and fishing with us. In the mountains we would daydream about our future life ahead. Under the stars and moon nestled in the pristine mountains of Utah we decided we wanted to have a baby. As time went on we talked about the logistics of it and what our ultimate hope was for our future family. Through this process we consulted my OBGYN about my medical conditions and we consulted with fertility specialists. The new option we came to is trying IUI with a sperm donor. This option is also very very expensive. Because we are an LGBTQ couple our insurance company will not assist in the cost of any of the treatments and therefore it will be difficult for us.

We are starting this fundraising process to ask those who know us, and those who don’t, to help us. We want to continue to move forward in our relationship. We want so badly to have a child with whom we can go camping, hiking and fishing with. We want a child who can chase her kitty siblings around and explore the world around them.
