Hi everyone,
This is Codi, my 4.5–5-month-old kitten. She’s sweet, playful, and still just a baby. A sudden accident left her with a severe fracture to her left back leg, and she’s in pain but can absolutely recover with treatment.
Because I don’t have pet insurance, the emergency vet quoted up to $7,500 + tax for orthopedic surgery — a cost I simply cannot afford. I live in Montreal and am actively pursuing lower-cost options, and discussing hind-leg amputation as a last resort, which is a humane and successful option for many cats. Even these options still cost thousands of dollars, and time is critical.
Codi deserves a chance to grow up without pain. Kittens adapt incredibly well, even after losing a back leg, and with proper care she can still run, play, and live a full, happy life.
