Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my dear friend Codey. He’s been one of my best friends for close to 30 years.
A few weeks ago, Codey started having severe throat pain that just wouldn’t go away. What we thought was something simple turned into a nightmare. He finally went to the hospital, where doctors discovered he had sepsis — a serious infection that landed him in the hospital for days. He needed a port placed so he could receive IV medication and treatment.
Since then, more tests have revealed even more concerning news — two spots on his throat, two spots on his lungs, and an unknown heart issue that will require more in-depth testing. He’s now being referred to an oncologist to check for possible cancer and to a cardiologist to find out what’s going on with his heart. Hearing those words has been absolutely terrifying for him and everyone who loves him.
Codey has always been someone who works hard and never asks for help. But right now, he simply can’t work. He had recently moved to North Carolina and had gone back to Florida for a job when all of this happened — and now he’s left without income, facing medical bills, rent, and daily living expenses with no safety net.
We are working to help him apply for state assistance in Florida, but that process takes time. Right now, he needs help just to get by — to cover rent, gas, food, and ongoing medical expenses while he focuses on getting answers and healing.
If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to Codey and his family. Every bit helps lift some of the heavy burden off his shoulders so he can focus on fighting for his health instead of worrying about how to make it through the next week.
And if you can’t give, please share this link and keep Codey in your prayers.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, caring, and helping however you can.
