Help Coda Get Better

Hi, I am Kelly, and Coda is my sweet puppy. Coda joined our family less than two weeks ago, and she has filled my life with so much joy. She is full of energy, and she is so smart and sweet.

She immediately befriended our dog Humphrey, my whole family, and even her four guinea pig brothers.

She loved snuggles, but she also liked to play and romp around with Humphrey.

We took her to the vet for a puppy visit on Thursday, and the vet said she looked perfect. She got a shot, some dewormer, and some preventative heartworm medication and went home.

After her appointment, she started deteriorating. Our playful puppy just wanted to sleep and sleep. At first, we thought it may be some side effect of the vaccine, but her condition just got worse and worse. She was lethargic, feverish, trembling, and her poops were soft and bloody. Her temperature has been as high as 105.6. We have taken her to the vet every day since Monday, and they cannot figure out what is going on. Earlier today, we decided to take her to a 24-hour emergency care vet where she is now. Every test has come back negative, so all they can do is guess and treat symptoms. She has gotten three blood tests, two urine tests, two fecal samples, an X-ray, an ultrasound, tests for Parvo and Lepto. We are hoping that more aggressive diagnostics, as well as round-the-clock professional care, will help her.

We have already paid $4500 in vet bills since Monday, and the veterinary hospital wants to keep her overnight, so we would really appreciate any help with the vet bills. We want to do everything possible to save her life. She is only four months old, and even though she has not been a part of my life for long, she means the world to me, and I want to see her grow up and live a long, happy dog life.

Any donations will go toward paying back the vet for antibiotics, fluid therapy, and around-the-clock monitoring, diagnostics, and interventive care.
