COCO, our beloved American Terrier, has been a loyal companion to my dad for the past five years. Rescued as a tiny puppy after being abandoned, COCO quickly became more than just a pet—she is my dad’s guide and protector. My dad is legally blind, and COCO helps him navigate daily life, alerting him to people nearby, stopping at curbs, and providing constant support and companionship. Their bond is unbreakable, and COCO has never left his side since the day she was rescued.

Last night, COCO was attacked by a Pitbull and suffered severe injuries. She was rushed to the nearest vet, an hour away, and is now in the hospital facing multiple surgeries. COCO’s jaw is shattered and will need to be completely reconstructed, and her back leg may be broken or fractured. She has multiple puncture wounds across her body, legs, mouth, and face that need to be cleaned, flushed, and stitched to prevent infection. The main surgery will focus on reconstructing her jaw and placing a feeding tube to help her recover.

This has been devastating for my dad, who has always been strong but is now heartbroken seeing COCO in pain. COCO is not just a dog—she is family, and without her, my dad would be lost. The medical bills are overwhelming, and we do not have pet insurance. We are reaching out for financial support to help COCO get the urgent care she needs.
