Hi all! I have created this GoFundMe to help pay for my pup’s medical bills.

Coco has developed a tumor on her iris which has caused glaucoma and now vision loss in her right eye. I took her to a specialist today who determined she needs her eye removed and sent up to pathology to see if it is cancerous. I am so distraught because just last week I took her for an eye exam at her usual vet where they determined she still had vision in that eye, prescribed medication for glaucoma for her elevated eye pressure, and referred me to see a specialist.

Unfortunately, I don’t have pet insurance for her and no pet insurance company will take her on now given her age and preexisting condition. I have been paying for all of her vet bills out of pocket or with credit cards and now CareCredit, but I am stressed trying to figure out how to pay for these next steps. The procedure for eye removal and testing alone is $4500, and on top of that, she also has a hernia that needs repairing, for which I was quoted $4600.

I call her my little old lady, but Coco is still so young and full of life! She’s a tough and brave, happy girl, but I know behind her smiles and tail wags she’s in pain. I don’t want to let my baby suffer; she has been with me since she was 3 months old and is now 11 years old. She’s like a daughter to me; she’s grown up with me as I was growing up, and she’s a big part of my young siblings' and my entire family’s life. She’s been by my side and helped me heal throughout my abusive relationship and has always been such a sweetheart to kids, other animals, and people. Some even say her kisses are healing.
