Hi, I’m Jess and I’m raising funds for my 13 year old rescue cat, Coco. Some of you may remember me sharing a GoFundMe for Coco a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, stage 4 periodontal disease is progressive, and despite previous dental extractions, her condition has continued to advance with lesions on her gums and abscess formation.

Her veterinarian has informed me that she is needing even more tooth extractions to remove active infection. Her ability to eat is restricted due to pain. This isn’t a repeat of the same treatment — it’s the next medically necessary step, due to her age.

If left untreated, dental disease and oral infection can spread through the bloodstream and contribute to serious complications affecting vital organs such as the heart and kidneys.

The estimated cost for surgery, including pre-anaesthetic bloodwork, imaging, anaesthesia, extractions, and post-operative medication, has been quoted at $3,000–$4,000.

I know I’m biased, but it’s impossible to describe Coco’s soul without doing her an injustice. She leaves an impression on everyone she meets. She has wholeheartedly saved my life and I can’t imagine life without her. She is a healer. A soul cat. Social, incredibly smart, and deeply present. Coco looks straight into your eyes and you can tell that she ‘gets it.’

This fundraiser is solely to help cover these veterinary costs so Coco can live without ongoing pain or infection in her senior years.
