This is Coco — my son, my best friend, and my whole heart. I don’t have human children, but I do have a furry one, and his name is Coco.
For seven beautiful years, Coco has been by my side. He was born in Honduras, lived with me in Costa Rica, and now here in the U.S. — always bringing joy, comfort, and unconditional love wherever life took us. After I lost my mom to cancer, Coco came into my life and healed parts of me I didn’t even know were broken. I truly believe he was sent to save me.
Coco’s Diagnosis
Recently, our world changed. Coco was diagnosed with neuroendocrine carcinoma — a very rare and aggressive type of cancer. There is so little literature or research about this cancer in dogs that most of this journey has been filled with uncertainty and fear.
The cancer was found in his gallbladder, part of his liver, and a lymph node.
His Surgery
Coco underwent an extremely invasive surgery to remove his gallbladder, part of his liver, and the affected lymph node. It was risky, expensive, and terrifying — but he made it through like the fighter he is.
The surgery alone cost $8,000, and I’ve already put in everything I can to save him.
What’s Next
Coco is now preparing to start chemotherapy. Because his cancer is so rare, chemo is our best chance to delay new tumors from appearing and to give him more time — more walks, more cuddles, more love.
I watched cancer take someone I love once — my mom. This time, I’m doing everything in my power to fight back.
How You Can Help
If you feel moved to support Coco, your help truly means the world to us.
Every donation, every share, every kind message helps me continue giving Coco the chance he deserves.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me fight for him. ❤️
