Help Coco Chanel Live Her Best Life

Miss Coco Chanel walked into my life a month ago, and my community immediately fell in love with her. A dog, cat, and teacup pig wrapped up in one cute 10lb package, just ten and a half years young. In May 2014, my cousin Matt brought her home from the Walmart parking lot, a bundle of fluff and attitude. A year later, he passed away. He was 19. My uncle did his best despite the loss and a busy work schedule.

In August this year, I offered to watch her for two weeks so he could go out of town. Whether we were out camping, at work, at the gallery, or at a market, Coco has done so well and adjusted to the go-go-go lifestyle. Our mornings include a walk to see the salmon at The Ballard Locks. Our evenings include a stroll around the neighborhood or to Golden Gardens. It's become apparent that my role is to offer this sweet girl the best time of her life and, eventually, a comfortable transition.

We visited the vet for the first time in over 8 years last week. Coco has a heart murmur, possibly a collapsing trachea, and lots of dental issues. She needs some labs and tests done to figure out what is going on, the scope of it, and the treatment needed.

She needs an echocardiogram ($850), blood work ($450), doc visits to track progress ($100/visit), and medications to buy her some time ($200/month) to ease her discomfort, and then one last visit at the very end ($300). This totals to $3000.

I don't make much as an artist and work multiple gigs to make ends meet. Extra funds go into operating The Fishbowl, a QTBIPOC creative space that centers marginalized creatives through art.
