You may not know this, because he is such a humble and quiet man, but a few weeks ago tragedy struck Coach Nelson when his apartment was destroyed by fire. He and his mom (who he lovingly cares for as she lives with dementia) lost everything. Furniture, clothing, household goods, and even mom's beloved cats.

Coach Nelson is a kind and dedicated youth baseball coach who returned to New York from Texas a few years ago to care for his mother. He gives his time and heart to others and now it’s our turn to support him as he navigates this nightmare.
