Help Make Coach Mike’s Super Bowl Dream Come True
Donation protected
Michael Sarni is a once-in-a-lifetime coach with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to support one of his former Quince Orchard High School (Maryland) players as he competes in Super Bowl LVI on February 13, 2022. Please help us make this dream a reality and get Mike to Los Angeles for the big game!
Please note that this fundraiser is not affiliated with Maryland Public Schools, Montgomery County Public Schools, or Quince Orchard High School. This effort is an act of love and appreciation from Mike’s friends and family.
. . . . . . . . . .
My brother Michael has been a volunteer strength and defensive line football coach since 2007 for the three times 4A Maryland State Champions, the Quince Orchard Highschool Cougars located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Mike has an unrivaled love for the game and what it represents. His devotion and dedication to the players and staff is unparalleled. Mike truly has an innate ability to touch young men and woman’s lives in profoundly positive and sometimes life-changing ways.
Unfortunately, in 2020 Mike was involved in a car accident, through no fault of his own. Soon after, his business was negatively impacted, like so many of us, by the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Mike has had both knees replaced within the last six months and has been struggling financially. Although he remains optimistic, it's been a difficult road.
However, there is so much to look forward to and celebrate! I received a call from Mike, shortly after the AFC Championship game asking me if I remembered the high school kid he coached who went on to play for the Carolina Panthers. Of course I did! What I didn’t know was that this same kid was picked up as a free agent by the Cincinnati Bengals ten days prior and now has an opportunity to play in the Super Bowl. What a fairytale story!
This young man personally FaceTimed my brother and said, “Coach, I would really love to have you there to watch me play in the big game!” This invitation was met with both excitement and disappointment, knowing the logistical challenges of traveling after major surgery and during a pandemic mixed with the very real financial constraints that he is facing.
The friends and family of Mike want to alleviate these concerns and make the reunion of a very special coach and a very special player happen at Super Bowl LVI. Mike is an extremely humble and caring individual. He has been truly selfless with the time and energy he has bestowed upon everyone he meets both professionally and personally, always believing that positivity breeds more positivity. He knows that with hard work and dedication, any goal can be achieved.
If you can, please help me to achieve this goal of rewarding a lifetime of kindness and dedication to helping others realize their goals with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Michael is turning 54 years old on February 10th. Together, let's give my baby brother, who I love dearly, the best birthday gift ever and send him to the Super Bowl!
I want to thank everyone who reads this in advance for their consideration. If you can't financially help today, I understand. It would be equally as helpful if you share this request with your personal and professional networks. My prayer is that you, too, will be able to achieve any life goal you put your mind to, and always remember, "Everybody needs a leg up sometimes.”
