Help Coach Mike Hoff Get Back on His Feet

Good Evening!

I want to introduce you all to Michael Hoff. Mike is a hard worker, family man, Football Coach, volunteer, videographer, and a father of 5. Mike is the sole provider for his family. He works a full time job with Verizon and from time-to-time, is contracted to operate a camera for my company DigitalReel Productions. Mike is the Peewee football coach for the EWG Knights. He loves football, and loves coaching kids. He is passionate about the game and wants to help young players learn the game and give them the opportunity to see themselves shine in the limelight.

Mike spent the weekend of Nov 16th and 17th working the RI Pre-Teen cheerleading competition (he was the crazy dancing guy by the judges table) and football championships. During one of the football games, while filming on the sideline, the play was running right towards him and the players collided with Mike, sending him backwards to the turf. Mike lost consciousness and remained on the turf for quite some time. The fans of the game were truly passionate for his safety and really let Mike know they were thinking of him as he gave a thumbs up when he was raised in the stretcher. Unfortunately, he does not remember the moment, but for those that were there, it was truly a moment of a football community coming together.

I ask to have that community to come together some more and help Mike and his family stay afloat over the next few weeks as Mike will miss a lot of work. The family does not know yet what the medical cost will be, but as we all know, that can be significant. The family has medical insurance, but that for certain does not cover everything. Mike would never ask for help, and keeps asking me how the camera is. He is always concerned for everyone else, and always puts his family first.

Coach Mike is experiencing some extreme side effects due to hitting his head on the sideline. His speech and motor skills are slow. He is in pain, but with the help of medication he is able to rest. He hit his tail bone and there is some swelling around his lower back that is causing pain. The severity of the concussion will have some effects over the next few weeks that will keep him out of work.
