Help Coach Kubi Bring Home Gold at the IBJJF World No-Gi Championships
Hey everyone, my name is Kubilay Demirhan, but most people know me as Kubi or Coach Kubi. I’m a full-time Jiu Jitsu coach and active competitor, and this December I’ll be competing at the IBJJF World No-Gi Jiu Jitsu Championships in Las Vegas — one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport.
This isn’t just another competition for me — it’s a chance to put years of hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to the test, and to represent the community that’s supported me every step of the way.
Every day, I pour myself into this art — not only as an athlete, but as a coach. I devote my time to teaching kids, helping shape the next generation of warriors on and off the mats. I also volunteer with nonprofits like the New Haven Police Activity League, bringing Jiu Jitsu to youth in high-crime, at-risk areas as a way to keep them off the streets and give them something positive to believe in.
Now, I’m asking for my community’s support to help make this trip possible. The costs of travel, registration, housing, car rental, food, and getting my coach there with me add up quickly — and I can’t do it alone.
If you’ve ever trained with me, been coached by me, or simply believe in supporting someone chasing their purpose — I’d be deeply grateful for any help you can give.
I know in all of my being that I am the best in the world at my weight and belt level — and this is my time to prove it.
With your support, I’ll bring that gold medal home — not just for me, but for all of us who believe in hard work, discipline, and heart.
Every donation, share, and word of encouragement helps more than you know. Let’s get me to Vegas — and let’s bring home the gold together.
Thank you all for believing in me and standing behind this journey.
