My name is Jennifer. My father has cancer.
My father, Jay Miller, has spent the majority of his life dedicated to coaching, educating, and mentoring soccer players of all ages, races and genders. Most would call him a master of his craft. I never tire of the stories I hear from men whose lives have been forever changed from the positive influence of my father. Jay was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in December 2022. He has endured chemotherapy since January 5, 2023 trying to diminish cancerous tumors invading his spine. On April 24th he is admitted for stem cell replacement. A torturous procedure depleting his body of everything with hopes of returning healthy stems cells to, in turn rebuild his immune system. This procedure demands he remain within a 5 mile distance from Emory University Hospital for the 2 weeks following his procedure. Unfortunately his house is too far away to stay at home. I am asking for help to cover expenses for temporary housing and help to assist with the absorbent cost of prescriptions. We all plan methodically for retirement, but who plans for cancer? It’s difficult to feel helpful to our loved ones fighting this disease. His wife Lauren, a retired school teacher and principal, has been caring for my father 24/7 for 16 months. He has had two surgeries prior to his diagnoses. They both need a break! Please show them your love and support! Anything helps!
