Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.

My name is George Hopkins. Many of you know me as Coach George. I’ve spent most of my life giving to others, coaching, mentoring, and building young people through sports. Football and soccer have been more than games to me; they have been my way of connecting, serving, and finding purpose. Every player, every team, every season has shaped who I am, and I am deeply grateful for the people I’ve met along the way.

I originally came to the United States from Liberia many years ago, and for as long as most of you have known me, returning home has lived quietly but persistently—in my heart. I never imagined I would be asking for help like this, but life has a way of humbling us.

At 62 years old, my health and circumstances have made it clear that I can no longer continue the way I’ve been living. I’ve tried for years to save and prepare on my own, but repeated setbacks have taken everything I managed to put aside. I’ve reached a point where I truly need help to move forward.

This is not easy for me to share. Asking for support feels vulnerable and uncomfortable, but I’m doing so because I don’t have another option. I’m trying to find stability, peace, and a chance to rebuild my life in a place that feels like home again.
