Help Coach Bob Guerrero battle Covid
Donation protected
Hi, we have created this Go Fund Me on behalf of our father, Bob Guerrero. He is known and loved by many. He is a wonderful father, fiancé, brother, son, uncle, grandfather, friend, and a devoted coach. If you’ve ever had the chance to meet him you know he is like no other and you will remember him for life. He is the most unselfish person we know. He has always been the first person to offer help, even if it was to a stranger. We now want to help him.
On Nov 21st our dad was hospitalized due to covid pneumonia. Upon arrival to the ER from Immediate Care he also suffered a heart attack. We were distraught. We would’ve never expected this. He is a very active, fully vaccinated 63 yr old man. What also shocked us was that he tested negative for covid on Nov 19th. They quickly admitted him to the ICU where within a week we authorized him to be put him on a ventilator to help him breath because the illness was too much for him and we had no choice. Not too long after being put on the ventilator, a cardiologist decided to put him on a Ecmo machine. We learned that the ventilator was doing more harm than good because it wasn't enough and his lungs were working too hard. He is currently in the Cardiac ICU. We are all praying and very optimistic on his recovery. The doctors are trying their best to help him fight, but it has been a rough month on his body so far. If his lungs are not able to recover from having covid, he will need a lung transplant.
Our dad will require extensive treatment in the upcoming months while he is hospitalized. We are unsure at this time what all will be covered and unsure how much to ask for as we know the Ecmo is super expensive and so is a transplant. So we will adjust the fundraiser as we go. We are asking for donations no matter how small to help lessen the huge financial blow he will be taking. Please do not be embarrassed by smaller donations as a little adds up from everyone! And like our dad says, don't underestimate the little guys! We want to help him pay his bills, insurance, and any extra treatment costs that may arise further in his care. He has a long road ahead of him. We truly appreciate the time you took to read this. If you can donate thank you. If you are unable to donate we ask for a prayer. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God bless you!
Thank you,
Jeanette
