Hi everyone, my name is Calvin Mennyweathers, and I'm the owner of CM Designs & Photography based here in Carbondale, Illinois.

I started my photography business with just one DSLR camera, a backdrop, and a dream. For the past few months, I’ve been operating out of a storage unit — making the most of what I had to keep creating for my community. From portraits and graduations to real estate and events, I’ve poured love and hustle into my work.

Now, I finally have the opportunity to move into a real studio space inside The Island building in Carbondale — a space where I can fully bring my vision to life, offer clients a professional experience, and continue growing my art and business.

But getting this space studio-ready takes resources — furniture, lighting, power equipment, storage, signage, and basic setup costs.

I’m asking for help to raise $2,500 to make this next step possible.

What the funds will go toward:

Studio furniture (chairs, desk, rug)

Lighting and backdrop systems

Portable power solutions

A/C or fan for comfort

Changing divider for clients

Business signage and marketing materials

Initial rent and setup costs
