For 30 years, buildOn has worked to break the cycle of poverty, illiteracy, and low expectations through service and education. buildOn’s Global Programs partner with rural communities in developing nations to build equal access to education. Through their participatory methodology, buildOn has mobilized villages in some of the economically poorest countries in on the planet.
The Problem: There are many rural communities in developing countries that have no adequate school structure. In Nicaragua, the biggest roadblocks to education for students are poor infrastructure and the long distance they have to walk in order to get to school.
We’re taking matters into our own hands literally.
Goodyear Giving & Yellow Duck Marketing are partnering with buildOn to build a school in Nicaragua . During the last week of April, a group of 15 employees and volunteers will travel to the village to break ground and build a school that will ensure the community’s children and adults have access to quality education.
