Help Clover Run Again
Clover was adopted from Rat Terrier rescue and is about 5 years old. She is my cousin Brenda's adventure buddy, walking partner, shotgun rider, and best friend. Over the weekend Clover suddenly lost the use of her back legs. Brenda rushed her to the emergency vet. The diagnosis is that she is suffering from a disease called IVDD, short for Invertebral Disk Disease....which is a deterioration of a portion of her vertebrae which has led to spinal cord damage leaving this sweet girl paralyzed below the knee . She has had a CT Scan and is currently undergoing spinal surgery at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral Hospital. The prognosis is 85% - 95% that Clover will be able to walk again. The road to recovery will be long with physical therapy. We are hopeful Clover will be chasing squirrels and going for walks soon.
This was completely out of the blue and Clover does not have pet insurance. Even $5.00 will help. Please donate if possible and/or share. Thank you for your positive thoughts/prayers and donations. Brenda would be happy to discuss any questions about Clover's care please feel free to reach out.
We will be updating Clover's progress soon.
***UPDATE 8/9 3:30 pm***
Clover came through surgery well and is in recovery. Dr Putterman said there was a ruptured disc that caused bruising on the spinal cord, but is optimistic for a very good recovery.
