Hello! I'm Clover, and I need some help getting a wheelchair. As a warning, there will be images of medical imaging at the bottom of this post!

I have suffered from chronic joint pain, especially in the hips, for all of my life. In 2021 I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the hip, though doctors failed to follow up on any further treatment. In July 2025, I was diagnosed with chrondomalacia with patellar displacement in my right knee, and began seeking treatment for the pain it caused. However, no treatment method alleviated any of my pain, and the orthopedic surgeon declined to pursue surgical treatment options. This has left me with worsening pain over the last year, that leaves me unable to stand or walk for more than 15 or 20 minutes at a time on a good day.

Insurance will not cover the cost of a wheelchair, which would at the very least allow me mobility options that don't cause me constant pain. Currently, a wheelchair is out of my budget, which is where gofundme comes in.

The wheelchair models that would best suit my current weight and needs as a partial wheelchair user look to run between 480$-700$ USD before accounting for shipping. As such, I am setting the initial goal at 600$ USD to allow for shipping costs and GFM's fees. For the sake of transparency anything over that goal will go towards wheelchair accessories (cushions, cane holster, backpack), but the primary goal is and will remain the wheelchair itself.

It's my sincere hope that a wheelchair will allow me a little more freedom to go outside and enjoy life again, something my pain has thus far robbed from me. I am also hoping that a reduction in pain in one area will allow me the energy to better handle other unavoidable instances of pain.
