Help Clopoțica Breathe Again!

My name is Doina, and I am a member of Alga, an animal welfare organization in Moldova. Today, I want to share the heartbreaking story of Clopoțica, a stray dog who was hit by a car and is now fighting for her life.

What Happened to Clopoțica?

Clopoțica was found in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle. She was lying on the side of the road, injured and alone, with no one to help her. Thankfully, our team at Alga rushed to the scene and took her to the clinic.

The vets diagnosed her with pneumothorax and lung contusions – serious injuries that make every breath painful. She is now in an oxygen chamber, receiving intensive care, but she needs continued treatment and hospitalization to survive.

Clopoțica requires:

✅ Oxygen therapy and constant monitoring

✅ Sedation, chest catheterization, and air evacuation from the lungs

✅ Strong painkillers to manage her suffering

✅ Further medical tests and hospitalization

Who Are We?

Founded in 2006, Alga is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping stray animals in Moldova. Our main mission is preventing suffering through free sterilization, vaccination, and adoption campaigns. However, when an injured or helpless animal is in danger, we never turn away.

The Stray Animal Crisis in Moldova

Thousands of dogs and cats roam the streets, abandoned and struggling to survive. They didn’t choose this life. Without shelters, food, or medical care, their lives are full of suffering. The only real solution is mass sterilization and responsible pet ownership education – but until then, we continue saving as many as we can.

Clopoțica is just one of many stray dogs, but today, we can change her destiny.
