Hi everyone,

Our names are Pam and Lennox and we are reaching out on behalf of family friends Clive and Degrie, who have lost almost everything after Hurricane Melissa tore through their Parish, Trelawny in Jamaica last week.

When the storm hit, their home was completely flooded, part of their roof torn off, windows blown out and much of what they owned was destroyed — furniture, beds, clothing, kitchen and even their car. They are now left picking up the pieces, trying to figure out how to start over.

If you have had the pleasure of meeting Clive or Degrie, either on a trip to Jamaica or on one of Clive's visits to Victoria, you know they are the kind of people who are always ready to help when others are in need, and always with a smile on their faces.

Clive and Degrie also spend their free time cooking meals and caring for elderly neighbors in their community who otherwise would go hungry. Due to the condition of the roads surrounding them and their car being destroyed in the flooding, they are unable to get around or to work.

Right now, Clive and Degrie urgently need help with:

Basic necessities like a bed, food, clothing, and toiletries

Urgent home repairs, replacing the roof, windows and kitchen

Repairing and/or replacing their car, which they use to serve their community and get to work
