Make a difference for Clint During His Healing Journey

Donation protected

What a big blessing. As Clint's aunt it has been such a miracle. Clint is 45 and has had Type 1 childhood diabetes all his life. Several years ago, his kidneys performance dropped to four percent and he was placed on a dialysis machine at home. The doctor placed Clint on daily home dialysis. Clint is married and has 2 small boys. Through all of the medical issues, there have been all types of money needed. Clint is on the way to being better.

Clint was unable to work but never stopped. He continually looked for mowing and other odd jobs to pay the bills.

They were called Monday, May 12, to go to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for a very rare Spontaneous pancreas kidney transplant . They arrived, and the surgery was successful.

Now they have the overwhelming task of having money during the recovery process that could be 1 to 2 months in Oklahoma City.

He will be unable to work.

His wife Kami will be required to be with him to monitor his care and recovery.

They will need temporary housing, food, and gas for daily trips to the hospital to draw blood for testing of the kidney and pancreas. They will also have the cost of their 2 boys who will still be at home waiting for their return.

If Clint's wife stays, she will need help. Thank you for any amount that you can donate. All funds will be spent on an apartment or place to stay, daily gas, food, utilities, and any leftover will go toward organ transplant and medical expenses which will never be completely covered.

Thank you for helping Clint recover from this Spontaneous pancreas kidney transplant. It is a once in a life time changing emergency. No one ever plans to have this much money on hand for something like this.

**Update: 5/17/25 ‼️**

Clint has had a setback.

Yesterday morning, he experienced sharp pains in his abdomen. They gave him the maximum dosage of his pain medication, but he was still in severe pain. The doctors ordered an emergency CT scan, which revealed a slow bleed and pancreatitis. While his pancreas is still functioning well, it is inflamed. They have decided not to perform a scope at this time, as they have stopped his blood thinners, believing the bleeding should resolve on its own. The pancreatitis will heal with time and rest.

Clint is being kept heavily sedated due to the severity of his pain. He received two blood transfusions yesterday because his hemoglobin is low from the slow bleed. Additionally, a temporary hemodialysis port was placed in his neck, and he underwent dialysis treatment for 3 hours last night. Toward the end of his treatment, his blood pressure dropped dangerously low, and he became disoriented, not recognizing me or his surroundings. That was really scary to say the least. However, they adjusted the machine, and within a few minutes, he came to.

So…a lot happened yesterday!!!

This morning, the doctors came in and wanted him to rest today, so there are no tests or dialysis scheduled. Although the nurse told me a little bit ago that his hemoglobin is getting low again, they will most likely order another unit of blood. Clint is back on NPO (nothing by mouth) and off his liquid diet. He only had a few sips of broth at breakfast and lunch on Thursday and hasn’t eaten anything since Sunday, so they put him back on ice chips and sips of water again with meds—Today marks day 5 in the ICU, whereas we were originally only supposed to be here for 2-3 days. After that, move to a regular room for 7-10 days and stay nearby for another 2-3 weeks, but on Wednesday, since he was doing so good, his surgeon said it could change to 1-3 weeks. But now its looks like our time here might be longer than even originally anticipated. Hopefully not because we miss our boys like crazy!

Please pray and keep your fingers crossed for Clint!

1. That the slow bleed resolves on its own, and the pancreatitis heals quickly.

2. His kidney continues to improve, so he won’t need any more dialysis.

Thank Yall. ♥️

Update: 5pm

They have decide to give him two blood transfusions this evening and a scope of his GI track is scheduled for in the morning.
