Hi everyone! I’m Brittaney Hebert, fellow alumni. Class of 2004!
What should have been one of the most memorable nights of these students’ high school years was taken away in an instant.
Due to a gun threat, this year’s senior prom at Clintondale High School was canceled for the safety of everyone involved. While the decision was necessary, it left many seniors heartbroken. After years of hard work, challenges, accomplishments, and anticipation, they lost the opportunity to celebrate one of the biggest milestones of their high school experience.
These students have already missed out on so much over the years, and no senior should have to end their final year of high school wondering what could have been.
This fundraiser is being organized by Clintondale High School alumni, working together with other former students and community members who want to give back to the current senior class. As alumni, we feel a strong connection to this school and its students, and we are committed to making sure they still get a meaningful and safe celebration.
Our goal is to raise funds to organize a safe, memorable, and meaningful prom experience for these seniors. Donations will help cover venue costs, decorations, entertainment, food, security, photography, and other expenses needed to create a special evening they can enjoy with their classmates. Many local vendors and community members are already generously donating their time and services to help bring this event to life, which will allow funds to stretch further.
Funds raised through this GoFundMe will be withdrawn by the organizer and used directly to pay vendors and event-related expenses. Payments will be made as needed to cover deposits, services, and remaining balances associated with producing the prom.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will help give these students a chance to make the memories they deserve before graduation. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with friends, family, and members of our community.
Together, we can show these seniors that their community supports them and wants them to have the celebration they worked so hard for.
