Hello. My Name is Clifford and I am a 48-year-old Seasonal Agricultural Worker from St. Catharine, Jamaica. I have been coming to Ontario, Canada for four years to work on a farm near Collingwood. I have paid taxes and all other deductions while working and paying into an employer group benefits plan.

Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in September of this year while working here in Canada.

I have been receiving treatment and pain management but, because of my seasonal contract and limited funding options, I will lose coverage for medical care and treatment on December 15th, 2024. I have community partners helping me with immigration status and options for coverage but this all takes time. I need financial support to maintain my treatment plan while we are seeking more help.

I am far too sick to travel back home and without funding to continue my medications, I would be in extreme pain and I would suffer from nausea, vomiting and the spread of my disease.

My only chance to survive and have a decent quality of life is to continue with my current medications and treatment plan.
