Cleo is our 2-year-old pup, and she has always been healthy and full of life. While we were out of town for a week, we received a video call from my cousin letting us know that Cleo was having a seizure. They quickly put her in a tote and rushed her to the emergency vet since it was the weekend. We spent hours on the phone with the vet, trying to understand what was happening and how to help her. The vet performed bloodwork, x-rays, and hooked her up to fluids to stabilize her. It took us over 12 hours to get to her because of traffic, and when we finally arrived, Cleo was in her cage, hooked up to IVs and highly sedated. When they opened the cage, I got on the floor next to her, and she eventually opened her eyes and brought her head closer to me. We were able to spend some time with her in a private room, but she wouldn’t open her eyes again or make any movements. The vet is keeping her sedated to prevent further seizures and avoid permanent brain damage. This has been an incredibly difficult and emotional experience for us, and we are doing everything we can to help Cleo recover. We have already paid a significant amount upfront for her critical care and overnight stay, and the costs are continuing to add up. The vet said if she does not have any seizures tonight, they will try to get her off sedation and see how she does. We are asking for support from our community to help us cover Cleo’s emergency vet bills and ongoing treatment. Any donation, big or small, will make a difference in helping Cleo get back to her spunky, loving self. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post to help us reach more people. Thank you for your kindness and support during this challenging time.
*If you would like to donate directly to the emergency vet, please contact me directly and I will provide their information. And I did apply for carecredit and was declined.
