Hello Everyone,

Our darling Miss Cleo had a tragic accident at 8am on Sunday morning, being struck by a moving car in our neighborhood.

She is 7 pounds of spunk, an energetic, intelligent, and loving dog. She’s 12.5 years old and has been part of our family for the last 10. She was our daughter Anna’s dog, her “heart dog”. Anna tragically and unexpectedly passed away 2.5 years ago and Cleo has been with us since then.

Sunday morning Cleo decided to go on an adventure. She slipped out the door when a family member opened it to go out and sprinted down our driveway to the road where she was struck by an oncoming car. The person who hit her just kept going. It wasn’t a car we recognized from our neighborhood and we couldn’t find it when we drove around after we got Cleo inside. At first, we didn’t think she was alive but she started breathing very shallowly. We rushed her to a pet ER where they stabilized and evaluated her and then was transferred to Tufts Veterinary Hospital.

Her injuries included a head injury, a shattered femur, a fractured pelvis, and a ruptured bladder. Due to the awesome care she is receiving at Tufts, she is slowly improving. She is waking up and moving. She has survived her first surgery to repair her bladder. She still faces 2 more surgeries for her pelvis and her leg.

Our only focus right now is helping Cleo heal and bringing her back home to us. The cost of her medical care has been substantial, and we have already incurred approximately $13,000 in expenses. With additional surgeries still ahead, that number will be increasing.

We love her so much! And she is a beloved link to our very missed deceased daughter. So, we are asking for help in paying for Cleo’s care. Any amount donated will be a help and much appreciated.
