Hi, my name is Dana Farleo, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Penny and her beloved dog, Cleo.

Cleo is an 11-year-old American Staffordshire mix, and she’s been Penny’s constant companion and source of unconditional love. At 77 years old, Penny lives alone, and Cleo is truly her whole world—her family, her comfort, her joy.

Now, Cleo is facing two serious health issues:

• A growth on the back of her neck, which may be removed without major complications

• A more urgent growth in her nasal passage, which is now making it difficult for her to breathe

Cleo’s nose runs constantly, she experiences occasional nosebleeds, and her breathing is noisy, even while awake. It’s clear she’s uncomfortable and struggling.

Her veterinarian, Dr. Rick Erwin at Belleview Veterinary Hospital in Belleview, Florida, believes surgery could help. While the nasal mass might be more complicated—possibly with branches or “fingers” that have spread—Cleo is still in good health overall. Her heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys are all strong, and she’s a good candidate for surgery.

But time is not on her side. Dr. Erwin believes that within six months, it may be too late to operate safely.

The hardest part? Penny simply cannot afford the surgery. After paying her monthly bills, she often has nothing left, not even $10. She was considering putting the entire cost on a credit card, with no clear way to pay it off. That’s when I stepped in to try and help.

We’re asking for your kindness and support to raise the funds Cleo needs for surgery and follow-up care. Every cent will go directly toward her veterinary costs.
